Young & Naive;

OK GUYS, I learned how to make mayonnaise tonight! & let me tell you that’s it pretty damn difficult. My arm is killing me from whisking so much! Ugh but it came out pretty good :)

Day 2;

Today was my second class, Food Sanitation & Safety. Trust me, it’s even shittier than it sounds. This class is only until 8:30 though so I can’t really complain. I’m not going to go on about the boring shit we did like learn about food-borne illnesses and then watched an hour long film on meat bacteria. EW.
I don’t think I’ll be enjoying this class too much but in the end, I’ll get my ServSafe certification and that’s worth it. AND I already have homework. poop.

But next week, I’m going to be helping the head pastry chef prep 1,000 dessert dishes for the Food & Wine Festival. We’re preparing Pumpkin Pie Ravioli with White Chocolate Truffle Ice Cream and a Caramel Sauce. Uh delicious?!?!

Anyways, I’m off to do homework :)

I think I looked pretty adorable tonight ;)

My first day at Culinary School;

I was a wreck before I walked into school today. I’m not the type to make friends with people or really even be nice to them. I had no clue what to expect but now I’m happy that I’m doing this! :)

We all got our schedules and ID’s and got led down the hallway to our kitchen/classroom. We met our teacher, Chef Restifo. He’s pretty damn good looking. Haha anyways, we all had to introduce ourselves and say what we hoped to do after school. I talked about wanting to work on a cruise ship and what not. Then we all got our knife kits and our books for the course. I was most excited about my kit and books. They are so cool! :D

Next we watched a powerpoint of what we’d be doing over the next six weeks, the concepts that our practicals would be on, and all of the homework we’re going to have. We’re going to learn how to make lobster bisque, various sauces, mayonnaise, and soups. In six weeks and only 14 classes. But It’s gonna be awesome.

I signed up to volunteer at the Food & Wine Festival hosted at Epcot! So in a month or two I’ll be helping out with big galas and parties for the festival and maybe get to meet someone famous chefs and take their classes! I’m stoked. AAANNNDD to top off my ENTIRE night, my Chef pulled me aside and suggested I apply to do this out of state internship in ALASKA. fucking alaska!!! I get to go to Alaska for three months and study under amazing chefs and do awesome things. In alaska. I ran it by my mom, and she didn’t say no so that’s hopeful!

But anyways, this was my amazing night. If you actually read all of this, sorry if it was boring but I’m so happy!
